AI Is Destroying Our World Part 3: Censorship and the Freedom of Speech
And now I will continue my case against Artificial Intelligence. But wait, There's More! And it will continue from where I left off from the last post I wrote about how computers decide whether a person's insurance continues, or whether a review is published, etc. So let's continue on.....
To begin, I am the opposite of a Karen, and strive to have manners. (For those who are not familiar with that term, it is a term used to describe grown women who throw fits when they don't get their own way, and who are acting in every way like a spoiled, bratty child.) When my insurance was cancelled, even though my agent was fantastic, I decided to file a complaint about the company (not the agent) on a popular business review website. I don't throw out bad reviews just because a waitress was not precise with filling my drink up or because someone didn't greet me exactly when I enter a store.
Something legitimately bad, dangerous, or downright rude has to happen and be done for me to post a one-star review. Anyhow, I titled my review "Company is Run By AI, Does Not Look Out For The Customer." Without going into too much detail and including personal facts, I described what had happened, and I also mentioned how my agent did well. I patiently waited the six weeks to be able to see my review live. This was back in August that I posted this review. To this day I do not see it. I repeat, there was nothing rude, inappropriate, or unprofessional or angry-sounding about my review. I simply stated the facts of the situation. My review never got published. I wonder that if you criticize AI, your review will not be published, or anything that criticizes AI will be censored. The world, and businesses, need customers to stand up and say, "this is not working for us" or "this is a bad idea" in a professional way, of course, without fear of being deleted or not being heard. This helps the businesses improve.
I have also known people to get their insurance from the same company canceled completely for no reason, despite them being good drivers as well. How many other individuals have done the same thing, criticized AI and their reviews did not get published?
I also feel that there are more articles on the Web today about how great AI is, and fewer articles about the dangers of AI and how it is taking away our creativity and intelligence. Again, if you criticize AI, you are less likely to be heard, I fear. This unfortunately looks like another instance of that.
We must stop the robots. We must get them under control, and get our sanity back.
This concludes the AI saga. For now, at least.
