Tim Hawkins' "Atheist VBS Songs" Rewritten

It's been a long time, you guys. I have been working on job applications like mad. And I finally got a job as a bank teller. I enjoy it so far, I decided that as I work towards a career in music that finance would be something I enjoy and am good at as well, and it can be a job I can work my way up in if I so choose. It also pays nicely and to my satisfaction. I will always be a musician, and will always strive to be an entrepreneurial spirited composer and artist, no matter what I do to earn a living, and whether music is my main source of income or not. Fun fact-one of my favorite classes in undergrad was my Music Business class, which discussed many of the financial details and business strategies of record labels and music sales. I found it very interesting. More on that later.

I mentioned in my last post that I should rewrite some of the lyrics to Tim Hawkins' "Atheist VBS Songs," because I didn't feel they were as accurate as they could be. It could be called "VSA," or "Vacation School of Atheists," because "Atheist VBS" is an oxymoron. Still, I get what Tim Hawkins is trying to say, considering his audience. Also, evolution and atheism are two different topics and beliefs, although they can go together. However, the songs that I thought needed the most improvement included one about evolution. Disclaimer- I am not trying to promote anything specific. I am merely trying to show how to improve cheesy lyrics from the songs I began with. 😄

Here are my new and improved lyrics. If you are reading this post and you are an atheist, or if you believe in evolution, please tell me if they are accurate. Please remember to keep comments respectful, as I do not want people to fight online, I only want to share my creative (and scientifically written!) ideas with the world. So here they are.

"Evolution-This I Know"

Evolution, this I know
For our science tells me so
Little cells did I come from
What was weak turned into strong.

Yes, evolution
Yes, evolution
Yes, evolution
For science tells me so.

"Nature Loves the Little Children"

Nature loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
Their genetics fit just right
Nature loves the little children of the world!

"I Am An A"

I am an A
I am an A T
I am an A T H E I S T,

And there is N O  G O D
In this W O R L D
And when I  D I E  I will be N O T H I N G! Hey!
